Designer’s Den had trusted DHL Courier Express Pvt. Ltd. service to take her consignment of Indian handicrafts from India to Italy where they were to figure in an exhibition. She paid up Rs. 1,68,000 for the delivery.
However the courier service delivered the handicrafts in a damaged condition. To make matters worse they demanded additional payment of Rs. 84,000 from her.
She complained to the district consumer forum which found DHL Courier Express guilty of deficient service and ordered it to pay up Rs. 1,61, 834 to Designer’s Den.
