Chariot World Tours Ltd. in Bangalore gives consumer a bad holiday trip! Ordered to pay up Rs. 62,000 to him
K.R. Garudadhwajan and friends had paid up Rs. 41,236 in advance to Atmanand Krishna Shanbhag the Managing Director of Chariot World Tours Ltd. for a European tour on a twin room sharing basis.
Alas the Chariot turned out to be a leaky ship as the twin sharing room was not given and three persons had to share one room.
The long trip was a nightmare, and the holiday caused inconvenience, irritation and agony for the three persons squashed into a single room. Despite complaints to Chariot World Tours, they did nothing to sort out this problem.
Finally the dispute went through three consumer forums, and finally reached the National Consumer Disputes Redressal Commission Delhi where Chariot World Tours filed a petition against the Karnataka State Commission which had ordered them to pay back Rs. 70,000 to Garudadhwajan for bad service and costs. The National Commission also dismissed their appeal, so they have to pay up Rs. 70,000 to the complainant.
