Help at Home domestic services Secunderabad, ordered to compensate for not sending a replacement helper to consumer in need

M. Gopala Rao had paid up Rs. 13,000 to the Help at Home Domestic Services to get a helper at home for looking after his pregnant daughter who had come from America for her delivery.

The firm collected the money and sent a maid named Kannapaka Madhavi who worked for three days and then left, due to family problems.

The firm which was supposed to send a replacement in her place, did not do so and also did not return the money collected for the service.

Mr. Rao complained to the consumer forum, Hyderabad which ordered Help at Home Domestic Services (Sales Manager Ms. Shalini) to refund Rs. 13000 to the complainant with interest at 18 per cent along with Rs. 25,000 as compensation and Rs. 5000 as costs. This judgement was delivered on December 11, 2018.
