How to cut your carbon emissions by 50 per cent.
Deep down inside us, we all worry about the planet tottering under mountains of trash, and birds, sea animals, choking on and being strangled by plastics we throw down callously.
But it is possible for all of us to do something about this scary reality, with one tiny step every day says Michael Norton in his book 365 Ways to Change the World.
Take a carbon pledge to reduce your own carbon emissions. Then coax your friends and family to do the same.
Pledge to save 5 % to 10 % of your carbon emissions. Do these small things:

Turn the thermostat down by 2 deg. C and save 272 kg. a year.
Install a modern programmable thermostat and save 453 kg. a year.
Replace 3 standard light bulbs with low-energy bulbs and save 136 kg a year.
