The Advertising Standards Council of India has banned the advertisement of the Chaturbhuj Pharmaceutical Company for its contraceptive tablet which says that just one tablet would work as a contraceptive for six months! They gave no product details or proof of this pill having been tested and approved by scientific means or by any scientific body.
Finding it making false exaggerated claims the ASCI had to ban this ad as mentioned in its website below:
. Chaturbhuj Pharmaceutical Company (B – Gap contraceptive tablet): The advertisement’s claim, “Herbal Garbhnirodhak Tablet”, was not substantiated with supporting data and with any evidence of product details such as approval from regulatory authorities and is misleading. Claim, “Sirf ek goli six maah ke liye” (one tablet anti pregnancy contraceptive drug effective for six months) was not substant iated with proof of product efficacy and is misleading by gross exaggeration.
