Uri Geller, one of the huge and daily growing family of vegetarians says "Everything is better since becoming vegetarian.....my body feels clean.'But it is not really the health aspects - those are a bonus. But "its the killing. I think animals experience the same pains and anxieties as human beings. .....We are so arrogant. How do we know that dogs, sheep, or pigs don't think or calculate or fear?" As a child he knew nothing about animal slaughter. He discovered it later and realised he was adding to their suffering by eating meat!
Says Carol Royle “I could just as easily have been born a white rabbit having chemicals dripped in my eyes. Putting yourself in the animals’ place means you identify with their suffering.”
