Cook up this healthy Feast for the King who follows:Living without Cruelty!


Try out the smart, healthy kinder to animals Feast with Spinach and Raita!


  1. Eat two pieces of fresh seasonal fruit a day and one green-leaf seasonal salad.
  2. Add plenty of liquids to the daily menus: water, herbal teas, fresh juices, yoghurt, buttermilk etc.
  3. Try this Spicy Spinach with Tofu and Raita from Living Without Cruelty:

You will need: 450 g. fresh spinach, washed and de-stalked. One tablespoon vegetable oil, two teaspoons ground coriander,


One fourth teaspoon cayenne pepper, pinch of asafetida, 3 tablespoons water, 225 gms cubed, deep-fried tofu or uncooked paneer, one teaspoon sea salt, half teaspoon sugar.

Chop the spinach into small pieces. Heat the oil over a medium heat and fry the spices. Add the spinach and the water. Cover and cook until the spinach is tender – about 8 to 10 minutes. Add the tofu, salt and sugar. Stir and cook for another five minutes. Serve with raita drizzled over.

Fresh cucumber raita: half cucumber grated, 275 ml plain yoghurt, freshly ground black pepper, sea salt to taste, one fourth teaspoon garam masala. Combine all ingredients, and chill well before serving.
