Hotline Communications ordered to pay Rs. 30,000 to Delhi consumer sold a faulty mobile

Ravi Jatav from Delhi had bought a LEMAX 128 GB Gold mobile from for Rs. 36,999. But after a few days it fell down and the screen was damaged. He took it to the Hotline Communications service center which made him pay a sum of Rs. 11,536 for which he got a new handset with a fresh warranty.

However this phone was faulty and kept hanging and caused him a lot of grief. He complained to Hotline Communications which neither replaced the phone nor repaid his money.

He finally complained to the Delhi consumer disputes redressal forum. They sent a summons to Hotline Communications which did not bother to appear for the court hearing. Finally the court President Mr. K.S. Mohi finding Hotline Communications guilty of deficient service and causing harassment for the consumer, ordered it to repay Rs. 30,000 to Ravi Jatav, along with Rs. 5000 as compensation and another Rs. 2000 as court costs.
