Okra Napping Bed for Models from the Ministry of Meditation!
Whenever one of the cats is not feeling too well I feel better by making a soft, safe, comfortable hiding place for it. Cats love this gift. But they accept it by turning over your work, into what suits them more!
I bought a lovely floral sheet at a fair, and arranged it neatly on my sofa, for my tortoise shell to sleep on. But I found her napping on the magazines and books I had just got from the library! She was either showing me that she was literate or that books, hard ones of course, are softer than cotton sheets, which only cats would expect you to believe.
The grey tabby always snuggles up right inside the middle pages of a thick book on gardening etc, ignoring the very stylish silk pillow I had bought eagerly. Then I had put out okra to dry, after washing them, to cook them for lunch but my grey and white cat had chosen them for her pillow to nap on. That cats are weird, every cat owner knows, but do cats know this? The looks they give us when we gently shove them off books, washing machines, microwaves, kitchen cabinets, potatoes, okra etc. seem to say they think we are batty. They give us aggrieved looks. The kind we get when medicines or vets enter the conversation.
But the truth is that all cats, especially female ones, immediately decorate any cloth, paper, magazine, garden pot, that may be lying around, by napping on it. But Tom Cats urinate on these things so it is better to leave them out of this situation. Don’t feel sorry for them. Let them sit on walls, terraces, wherever.
Sometimes cats will sleep on the bed you have made for them, and that you should consider as a gift from heaven and thank them for it! And also thank them for the many and varied very attractive poses they show us, as they teach us not only how to make their beds, but also how to sleep on them, like cuddly furry models from the Ministry of Meditation.
