Shopper’s Stop Ltd. said in an advertisement in the Economic Times Mumbai (Bombay) that they were proud to be ranked as the 25th in The Great Places to Work study in 2015. The truth was that in the ranking list given in the supplement itself, they were ranked at number 42! Besides, a reader who had done his research found that the survey itself was dubious as many excellent working places had not been included in this survey. The methodology itself was faulty!
The Advertising Standards Council of India pulled up Shopper’s Stop for making false claims.
