Use a cotton handkerchief, not a throwaway wipe for the planet

Somehow it has become a fashion now to carry disposable wipes on vacations and days out. These are often drenched in perfumes and chemicals (which in my face spring out in blotches).

They are alas also made from rayon which comes from trees and the manufacture causes much pollution – chlorine is used which results in pollution from over 1,000 chemicals, including dioxins. I always take a cotton handkerchief –  it is so easy to rinse it out!
